Prayer is an area in my life that needs great improvement. So to help myself out I made a prayer list organizer thinger. I also made a generic one that could hopefully help out anyone else that doesn’t already have a prayer list. Fill free to make it your own. Add sections, delete sections, whatever will help you. I would suggest copying it over to your own excel program

It seems that every time a missionary comes and speaks at my church I go away with this longing to go to that country they are from. For a while I felt that perhaps this was a reason for me to possibly pursue missions. A couple months ago I decided to put those feeling away, on the bases that they were only feelings. I didn’t know any foreign languages, nor did I feel a draw towards any certain group of people like the Chinese or the Colombians or Japanese. It seemed to jump from country to country depending on where the missionary was from. I believe my God is a logical God, therefore because of these things I started to separate from the idea of missions. I told my self that I was going to watch my emotions the next time I heard a missionary preach.

This was the thought process I had when I heard that Roger and Carol Cryan, from Bethesda Outreach in southern Africa, where coming. As they started describing what they did, I could feel my body start to fight the temptation and desires of wanting to go check this out more. As I sat there and listened further, I was amazed. All things that were logically holding me back from pursuing something like this were gone. Roger mentioned that fact that their main language was English. There purpose over there was to place children in foster care and to see families form. Something that has become a passion of mine sense I have been working at my job at LSI. A child, though not an ethnic group, is a group that God has given me care and compassion for.

I am not sure where God could be taken this, but I am in pursuit of seeing if I can spend the next summer over in Africa. Who knows maybe God want me to be a physiology teacher in the school they have there. Or maybe it will be a one time deal… Or maybe God won’t have it work out and won’t be able to go at all… But whatever it is I will never know unless I pursue.

Creatine and the Christian Life??

As a health and fitness nut and as an inpatient human wanting results as fast as they can happen. It is not surprising that I stumbled along creatine. Creatine is a supplement you can take, it is naturally found in your body. It is the second energy source that your body utilizes through outs its day. When on creatine, it gives you more stamina which allows you to wear out your muscle closer to its fullest capacity. This in turn allows you to gain more muscle.

My diet, I must admit, has been slacking lately. I get free food from the place I work. The problem is that it turns out to be a lot pop tarts, sugary cereal, cake, pie, and things along that nature. It almost makes me sick just writing it out, but when you’re hungry and sadly lazy, you will eat the most convenient thing. And I did.

I decided a few months ago that I was going to start taking creatine again. I have had success with it in the past and so I wanted to try it again. So I got online and ordered some and started taking it within a week.

When you are taking the supplement creatine, you have a loading stage. In this stage you take 5 mg four times a day for a week. After the loading stage you only take it once a day. That loading stage is so that it gets into your system faster, do you don’t have to wait for the results the creatine gives you.

I started taking every four hours, and I was amazed, but not at the additional strength it gave me. When I was took it that many time a day, it corrected every other area of my nutrient imbalance. I no longer had the desire to eat all of that junk that I had been consuming. I wanted to eat healthy. Taking the creatine every four hours was a reminder to me that I was working for something bigger. Therefore, I never craved to have things that would sway me from my goals of being healthier.

After the week of loading I went down to the normal amount. Taking only one scoop everyday and guess what, my diet went down the hole. Taking it once in the morning or once at night, was not enough to remind me that I had a goal in mind that I was working towards something…

It dawned on me that this is exactly like my Christian walk. When I would do my devotions or have a solid time in prayer, I would be ready to face anything, ready to strive for the ultimate goal, ready to glorify God with all of my life. However, that drive would quickly fade as I went through the monotonous routine of my day. I would lose that fire, that drive that after my prayer and devotion would have me ready for anything. I realized I was only taking my “creatine” once a day. In order for me to have a Christ like growth, I need to be taking my “creatine” at least four times a day. I need to be in the Word or at least prayer more then at the beginning or the end of my day. I don’t have the capability to keep Christ as my goal, if I don’t do something that shows that he is, more then once a day. If I don’t depend on something that can actually give me the strength to reach for that goal, I will fail.

I am not trying to have a two hour devotional for times a day; however, I am trying to have one good devotional time and then three more quality time of prayer through out it. I must admit I fail a lot. It is sometime a struggle for me to get in my Bible and pray once a day, let only four times. When I do it is amazing, I find myself more prepared for the struggles of my day. More ready to see opportunities that God has given me. I find it easier to have that true joy in Christ that I should have. I would encourage anybody to try the same thing…
